24-7 Support and Care for Greenwich
Telecare Alarm are designed to protect and assist the elderly and disabled. Our service is available in Greenwich and throughout the United Kingdom.
By having a Telecare Alarm, it is hoped that the elderly can choose independence and avoid having to move into care. The service is easy to understand, simply to use and involves minimal intrusion.
If a Telecare user requires assistance they can simply press their pendant and a 24-hour monitoring centre will be alerted. Within a few short minutes, help will have been arranged and on its way to the alarm user's home.
What's Included in the Telecare Package?
Telecare Alarm Unit
The alarm unit acts as a communication device for the monitoring centre and our alarm users. Installation takes a few short minutes; It simply plugs into the mains power and telephone socket, with the telephone being plugged into the back on it.
The unit has a built-in microphone and loudspeaker system, allowing for clear communication between alarm user and the help team. It also has a red help button, which can be pressed in an emergency, a green cancel button for false alarms and a yellow Home/Button which can be pressed when the alarm user plans on being away from their home for a while.
The Pendant Button
The second part of the Telecare Alarm package is the pendant button. This little device can be worn around the user's neck, on a neck cord, or around their wrist like a watch.
It's waterproof so that it can still be worn in the bath or shower, and has a long range of around 100 metres. A seven-year battery means that the user won't have to worry about recharging or battery life. A free replacement will be sent once it begins to run low.
What to do in an Emergency
Once the Telecare Alarm has been set-up in the user's home, they will be covered by our highly-trained monitoring centre. The help team work 365 days a year, 24-hours-a-day to ensure that our Telecare users always have somebody to call for help.
In an emergency, the alarm user should press the red button on their pendant or alarm unit. This notifies the monitoring centre and a member of the team will respond. The monitoring centre will try to reassure the alarm user, whilst assessing their situation and taking the appropriate action.
This typically involves calling the alarm user's emergency contacts - friends, family and neighbours - and asking them to attend the scene urgently. If the alarm user requires medical attention, the monitoring team will contact the emergency services as well.
Annie, Sunderland
I felt so much better coming out of hospital to a Telecare button. I'd had my knee replaced and was vulnerable to falls. It made me feel safer.
Dan, Cardiff
We've found that the alarm hasn't just benefited Mum's life but ours as well. We worry less knowing she can let people know if there's a problem.
Robert, Nottingham
The alarm has made a huge difference to Mum’s confidence and it definitely brings me a lot of comfort.
Dr. Spratt, Worcestershire
For patients at high risk of falls, living independently at home can be a real struggle. Telecare alarms help give them that extra confidence by making sure help is always readily available.
Pricing Plans
Telecare Choice offer two simple price plans to ensure that you can get your personal alarm up and running as soon as possible.
Of course, both of our price plans come with free 24-hour delivery so that you can have your new alarm and pendant installed sooner, rather than later.
Once installed the alarm user will be covered by our 24-hour Monitoring Team. Should they need help, day or night, all they need to do is simply push the Telecare pendant and a member of the team will respond within seconds.
The Monitoring Team will then take appropriate action to ensure the user gets help - whether this is contacting a relative or the emergency services. Ensure help can gain access to the property with a Keysafe.
