Providing Wigan with Independence
Telecare Choice is here to help the elderly and disabled, living in Wigan and across the UK, to remain independent and comfortable in their own home.
We understand the risks that face the elderly at home, especially if they live alone or with a health condition. Our alarms give the elderly a quick and easy way of raising an alarm if they fall or need help fast.
We take the responsibility of providing Telecare systems very seriously. We ensure that we provide the highest quality of service possible. We're not connected to any council, and our customers are not tied down to a contract. Learn more about our service below.
What is the Telecare Alarm Package?
Simplicity is at the heart of the Telecare Alarm. The hardware comes in two distinct, simple parts that can be installed and set-up within a few minutes. All Telecare users will receive an alarm base unit and a little pendant button. To get up and running with the Telecare system, simply plug in the base unit, connect the telephone to the unit and press the red help button to begin a test call.
Base Unit Features
Loudspeaker system. This is used by the monitoring centre to speak with the Telecare user.
Microphone. This is used by the Telecare user to speak back to the monitoring team in an emergency.
40-Hour support battery. This will boot up if a power cut occurs. When power is restored, it will begin to recharge.
Red help button. This can be pressed to raise an alarm with our monitoring centre.
Green cancel button. This can be pressed if the user presses their pendant by mistake.
The Pendant Button
Alongside the main alarm unit, our Telecare users also receive the little pendant button. This device is full of the latest industry technology and can be worn multiple ways. It can be worn around the wrist or around the neck. Alarm users can choose the option which is most comfortable to them.
It's waterproof functionality is great for use in the bathroom, and a huge range means that our users can raise an alarm if they fall in their garden. With Telecare, the elderly are protected throughout the home.
In an emergency situation the Telecare user can press their red button to raise an alarm. The monitoring centre will respond quickly and efficiently, using the base unit loudspeaker to communicate.
Annie, Sunderland
I felt so much better coming out of hospital to a Telecare button. I'd had my knee replaced and was vulnerable to falls. It made me feel safer.
Dan, Cardiff
We've found that the alarm hasn't just benefited Mum's life but ours as well. We worry less knowing she can let people know if there's a problem.

Dr. Spratt, Worcestershire
For patients at high risk of falls, living independently at home can be a real struggle. Telecare alarms help give them that extra confidence by making sure help is always readily available.
Pricing Plans
Telecare Choice offer two simple price plans to ensure that you can get your personal alarm up and running as soon as possible.
Of course, both of our price plans come with free 24-hour delivery so that you can have your new alarm and pendant installed sooner, rather than later.
Once installed the alarm user will be covered by our 24-hour Monitoring Team. Should they need help, day or night, all they need to do is simply push the Telecare pendant and a member of the team will respond within seconds.
The Monitoring Team will then take appropriate action to ensure the user gets help - whether this is contacting a relative or the emergency services. Ensure help can gain access to the property with a Keysafe.

This can lead to people moving into a home or residential care. We believe that this doesn't need to happen. Our Telecare Alarms assist the elderly and help them to remain safe in the comfort of their own home.
